"TRUST IN GOD"
Unmovable Trust!
WHAT IS TRUST?
Proverbs 29:25
"The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso putteth his TRUST in the LORD shall be safe."
Fear robs many people of their FAITH. Fear of failure, fear of man, and fear of rejection are some of the strongest fears that satan gives to hinder our progress no matter what kind of fear the enemy sends against us. The important thing is to overcome it when we are faced with fear. We should not give in to it. It is imperative to our victory that we stand on, I will not Fear! The typical reaction to fear is flight (to run). satan wants us to run; God wants us to stand still and see his deliverance (II Chr. 20:17).
Because of fear, many people do not confront their issues; they spend their lives running away from them. However, we can learn to stand our ground and face the fear, secure in the knowledge that we are more than conquerors, and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loves us so much that He died for us (Rom. 8:37).
Webster's 1826 Dictionary defines TRUST as "confidence, a reliance or resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship, or other sound principles of another person." He who puts his trust in the Lord will be safe. Trust enables us to live without weights, burdens or cares because we have confidence that another will deal with those things for us. Instead of feeling that we are continually carrying a heavy load, we can enjoy an extraordinary lightness in our souls.
Putting our trust in God and casting our cares on Him requires that we decide to do it. David frequently spoke about putting his trust in God. The word "Put" is an action word that we often find in God's Word. When He is giving us instructions on what to do, put on love, put on the new man, put on your shoes of peace, and put your trust in God. The Bible says, "Cast your burdens on the Lord [releasing the weight of it], and he will sustain you" (Ps. 55:22). I like the idea of releasing the weight of a burden. We often live with a heavy heart and a burdened mind, but God invites us to a better quality of life. A life that is only experienced by putting our trust in Him. Webster said that trust is a resting of the mind. The apostle Paul confirmed this when he said that those who believe [Trust] God will enter His rest, (Heb. 4:3).
I pray this lesson brings joy and inspiration to your lives. Keep the faith and receive the blessing!
